Pioneer Fusion represents Clare Public Schools' bold and unified vision for STEM education—where innovation, leadership, and hands-on discovery are at the heart of student growth from kindergarten through graduation. Rooted in our identity as Pioneers, we believe in preparing students not just to navigate the future, but to shape it. Through Pioneer Fusion, we are creating an integrated STEM ecosystem that connects classroom learning with real-world problem solving, technical skill building, and personal leadership development.
At the core of our program is a commitment to meaningful, project-based learning. Our Frontier Lab offers advanced research opportunities for high school students to explore cutting-edge science and technology in a lab setting that mirrors real-world innovation hubs. Frontier Lab also prepares students to enter and succeed in national STEM competitions, challenging them to apply their learning at the highest levels. Clare Unmanned, our Drone Club, provides students with immersive, career-aligned experiences in drone technology, including competition-based missions that enhance skills in programming, aerial navigation, and problem-solving.
Through the Chief Science Officers (CSO) program, our student leaders advocate for STEM within the school and community, leading initiatives and inspiring peers. Our K–12 pipeline of FIRST Robotics teams fosters creativity, teamwork, and engineering excellence—from introductory builds to high-level competitions. The Beaver Island STEM/History Expedition provides immersive field science and historical exploration in Michigan's most remote classroom. And for our youngest Pioneers, Camp Invention lights the spark of curiosity through hands-on invention and play.
Together, these programs form a vibrant, future-focused platform that lives out our motto: Unleash Curiosity, Conquer Challenges

Clare's Frontier Lab gives high school students the opportunity to conduct original STEM research and compete in national science competitions while working with real scientists and mentors.

Clare Unmanned is a hands-on drone club where students fly advanced drones, compete in flight challenges, and explore careers in unmanned aerial systems.

CSOs are student STEM leaders who design action plans, organize school-wide STEM events, and connect with professionals to advocate for innovation and equity.

From LEGO exploration to full-scale competition robots, Clare's FIRST Robotics program builds STEM skills, leadership, and teamwork for students in grades K–12.

This free, 3 day, immersive expedition takes students to Beaver Island for hands-on science, local history, and outdoor exploration in one of Michigan's most unique learning environments.

Camp Invention is a nationally recognized summer STEM camp for students in grades K–6, filled with creativity, invention, and high-energy hands-on challenges.
